Full of days Euphoric
None induced by the chronic,
None with us down and out
Spewing stuff melancholic,

When we looked at a frown,
And fought to crack it,
Not to the right now
When everything is enveloped
Sealed in a word…Fukkit.

True. Life can be a bitch,
But that’s not for the right now,
That’s after all is said and done,
After a lot more is said than done,

In the end.

Tries to ignore the past.

A lump forms in his throat and it hurts.

The truth hurts and that truth,

 

Escape it, he tries

Simple though it may be

Though deny it he will,

He will never be free.

Free from the thoughts,

The ones that keep him up at night.

 

Etched permanently in his mind,

He tries to bury them, but he can’t,

To deny them is to deny their worth,

They haunt him,

Taunt him.

Sometimes he lets them,

What choice is there?

 

Ticked, he isn’t,

That they invade his dreams.

Or so it seems, he could be wrong,

He doesn’t want to be right,

He just wants to be…

 

Aye, it won’t come easy,

He looks o’er the piece of paper,

The words that were written by hand,

The lump comes back,

His throat hurts,

He doesn’t care,

For a minute,

He is happy…

Piecing it together as I go along,

Not paying attention to

Whether stuff this time round,

Will Rhyme, but I

Will step back,

Sneak a peek

Look at this piece,

What the heck have I…?

It’s the one about addiction,

Y’all got yours, I’ve got mine,

Come to think of it, what’s yours

Could easily be mine.

One thing’s for sure, once you get a hit,

…. even for a bit.

You’re hooked and can’t let go of that **it

Start off small,

Let’s not get carried away,

You know you gotta have more,

All or nothing at all

Three won’t do, heck not one not four.

Dammit, need a fix

Won’t settle for anything less than six

Hundred.

Odds of pulling that off are five to five

These are the thoughts that lurk,

Somewhere private

somewhere dark

The stuff that spills to the surface when you won’t give a…

Lost my train of thought,

I say that like it’s a loss by any standard,

Yet this makes sense, I haven’t lost the plot,

Got a grip, board a ship,

forget this verse,

To the next, let us skip.

An attempt at the diverse,

The kind where I don’t converse,

But string a long a variety of phrases,

In a pattern that sort of amazes.

Want to stop here,

Take my medication,

long overdue

For some sort of rehabilitation,

But look around,

Do some meditation,

Coz you need the salvation.

On further contemplation,

Last line wasn’t necessary,

Neither was this post,

This far you’ve made it,

I couldn’t pass up the temptation…
